So we have now set into a little routine...it involves many kisses so I can't complain. Here's how it goes...
Every night when it's time for Lydia to go to bed-after she's read her books, and drank her milk, she runs to daddy to give him his "night-night" kiss, then she runs to the bathroom to step on the stool (where she is still to short to reach the sink) and anxiously waits for mommy to come help her brush her teeth. Once the teeth are brushed it's off to her room where she tries to climb into her crib by herself. I'm guessing the toddler bed is just around the corner right? Anyway, I pick her up and for a second we look at eachother and she knows what I'm waiting for...my "night-night" kiss. So then I get this huge open mouth kiss that says-"here mommy-this should hold you over till the morning". My heart melts once again. Next comes the "tucking in routine". Once she has made it into the crib with her magic blankie, she gives me this look like "aren't you forgetting something?". Of course! I forgot to say goodnight to all the stuffed animals in her crib! Ok-here goes...First there is big bear, then little bear, then sometimes baby bear (although-he's lost right now), then monkey, then dog. Each one gets a kiss from me and then kisses Lydia on the cheek as well. Once everyone has their kisses, they each find their place beside her and everyone gets tucked in with a blanket. How did we ever come up with this routine? I think it all started with the kisses... which lately are very abundent! :)
